For 2023, OCFF embraced the concept of a pot of soup, symbolizing a harmonious blend of creativity, flavors, warmth, nuances, succulence, and diligent effort. The festival’s inclusive spirit cherishes the unique essence of every film, the intricacies of their treatments, and the hidden ingredients that made them extraordinary.

 

The festival’s design concept centered around a soup pot, which incorporated the letters O, C, F, and F as the soup’s main ingredients. In a nod to the filmmaking process, the pot was stirred in an engaging animation that revealed the festival logo.

 

The visually captivating posters and sub posters, featuring soup-themed visuals, used a typeface that evoked a comforting broth, capturing attention and enticing exploration of the diverse movie menu. Each poster artfully conveyed a unique festival aspect, such as an elegant fine dining soup for narrative features, a nostalgic classic soup can for repertory, and a lively disco bowl of soup for the party. This carefully crafted design aimed to create an immersive experience, celebrating filmmaking while promising a flavorful and unforgettable cinematic journey. 

The soupy typeface, graphics, and photography extended across touchpoints including the website, social media, posters, out-of-home boards, event catalogs, and attendee merchandise.
